WHEN YOU DO NOT NEED REMOTE ACCESS |
As long as you have a valid NetID and password, and browser access to the Internet, there are some DCRI/Duke resources you can access directly and bypass DCRIconnect altogether.
For more information, refer to resources on the Microsoft Outlook and Office 365 Learning Center (you must be logged on to the DCRI network) and to Microsoft training videos at help.outlook.com/en-us/140/gg605090.aspx. Note: A few tasks can only be completed in the Outlook client on a DCRI-owned computer.
You can reach some web applications, such as Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), directly from your browser without opening the DCRIconnect portal page. (Of course, you must enter a valid NetID and password to use the application.)
There are some DCRI-related websites that are intended for public access (such as DCRI.org and DTMI) and some websites that are accessible to the public but require a valid NetID and password to open specific resources (such as Duke Occupational and Environmental Safety Office [OESO]). You do not have to open the DCRIconnect portal page for these types of URLs. Tip: Try connecting to a website or web application directly to determine if Remote Access is necessary. |
